The Haven Snitch

The Haven Snitch is the HPHaven online radio show. The Haven Snitch, often referred to as THS, was started in January 2009 by Justin-Blake McRyan. Episodes typically run for two hours and focuses on highlighting the handlers and characters of the HPH world. The show is hosted by JB McRyan and Rose Arcana

History

Around early January of 2009, the handlers of Justin-Blake McRyan and Rose Arcana pitched the idea of a radio show to Admin Derek. The show's premise would be spotlighting and showcasing the handlers and characters found on Harry Potter Haven RPG. According to host JB McRyan, the radio show would ultimately become something that was unique to HPH in terms of Harry Potter Role Playing sites in general. The show would also be an attempt at marketing the HPH name to the Internet public through blog talk radio. The idea was met with approval from Derek, thus giving permission to launch the program into its developmental stage.

Giving It A Name

Upon announcing the possibility of a radio show designed exclusively for Harry Potter Haven, the next step involved dubbing the show with a name. Instead of creating a name behind closed doors, the task was left up to the HPH community. On January 27, 2009, the "OMG We Need A Name" Thread was posted allowing any registered member to contribute a suggestion.

A final list of candidates included:

• Marauder's Haven
• The Golden Snitch
• HP Radio

However, with the copyright issue being pointed out, HP Radio and The Golden Snitch had to be removed. The latter of the two had been a favorite by many. As a result, "The Haven Snitch" was then suggested by Rose Arcana. Met with immediate approval, the name was made official and The Haven Snitch was born. Today, the show is often reffed to as THS.

Episodes

Though never expected to run past two hours, the shows are scheduled for that time to allow the hosts and guests to carry out the program. Ironically enough, THS usually stays on air for longer than two hours. During the entire broadcast, a related THS Chatroom is also open for listeners to interact with each other and the show.

Episode 1: The Inaugural Show

• Infamously known for its technical difficulties, specifically with getting guests Derek and Sarah on the air

• The premier of "Arcana's Apothecary" commercial
• Peyton Maine and Angell Erikson promising appearances for next episode
• Sarah ultimately being able to get on air
• Rose Arcana helping Derek get onto the rest of the show via calling card

Aired on May 4, 2009.
