The first group of Werewolves have been named and are known, by those well enough versed, as “Pets”. Given this name by Fenrir Greyback this group has been created purely and simply because of the Wolfsbane potion which was introduced by the human Damocles Belby. Wizards and most of the Werewolves who drink this potion do not realise that as well as allowing them to keep control of their minds, the potion also has another affect upon Werewolves which creates the “Pets”. Any Werewolf that has taken the Wolfsbane potion during a full moon six times in order to keep control of their mind (How many times it is used between full moons makes no difference as it is the amount of times they have transformed under its affects that changes the Werewolf) will have their transformed wolf changed into a weaker version of the other two types of Werewolves. This type of Werewolf transforms into a creature which is extremely close to the original Werewolves, taking on the form of the wolf that their bloodline was merged with and making no change to the wolf’s body, making it the least evolved of all three types of Werewolf despite the fact that most do not know Wolfsbane has this affect. The wolfsbane potion also affects these Werewolves in their human forms as well. “Pets” do not contain any advanced strength or speed in their human forms and their senses are no greater than the average humans either, as all of these attributes are controlled by the potion and stopped from being allowed to manifest within their bodies. When Fenrir first discovered this form of Werewolf his pack were still fighting for the rights of Werewolves to live as superior to humans and it was for this reason that they gave these wolves the name of “Pets” indicating the lower status they are viewed to have by those that consider themselves true Werewolves.
