The second group which was discovered by Fenrir Greyback have been named as “Guard dogs” and were considered to hold a status only a small amount higher than the “Pets” by Fenrir and his pack. “Guard Dogs” are Werewolves who have not taken the Wolfsbane in order to control their Werewolf side but have not allowed themselves to truly accept their wolven side either. These Werewolves are the ones who try and blend into society as much as possible, not wanting people to know what they are or what they are capable of and often feel ashamed of their condition even though they do not take the potion. This is not however a necessity as some members of this group of Werewolves are simply the ones who live normally and peacefully, not caring what happens to their wolven natures and yet not ashamed of it either. When they transform into their Wolven forms however they are slightly more advanced than the “Pets”. Being the most common form of the new world’s Werewolves, these Werewolves are the ones who when transformed become almost a spitting image of their wolven origins but with very slight changes made. The front paws of these creatures have claws rather than stubbed toes and are in a slightly more humanoid shape, giving them the ability to scratch more efficiently. These new claws are not fully bendable as the humans and are more often used for scratching from further away as it is impossible for the Werewolves to grab hold of anything or lift with these claws as they are not completely human in anyway. These Werewolves also have the ability to raise themselves onto their hind legs for short periods of time although moving whilst on their hind legs is very difficult and this is only often used for frightening enemies or to make it easier to reach a Vampires neck. Whilst in their human forms these Werewolves have heightened senses compared to that of the humans, nearing the level that Wolves are able to use their senses but not quite reaching this level yet. These wolves will be able to hear and pick up scents for different distances, depending on how well they have honed their abilities, but are limited to the distance of the average Wolf. They also gain whilst in their human forms, a boost of strength which would bring them to almost twice the strength of the strongest humans and are able to move faster than any human would ever be able to dream of achieving.
