Dragons Sleeping Draught

Name

Dragon's Sleeping Draught

Use

To put any Dragon to sleep

Description

Similar to the Draught of Living Death, this specific potion was first made and perfected by Ivana Mandletop some fifty years ago when she was studying biological effects of different dragons in diverse ecological environments. In order to transport the dragons to various locations, she and her colleagues always used the Draught of Living Death to put them to sleep, however they began to notice a few side effects that were less than savory over time. Not wanting to injure the animals, Ivana went to work on modifying the potion so that it was more biologically and genetically friendly for the large beasts. Effects: One dose of this draught is enough to put a dragon into a dreamless sleep for several hours without injuring them. After a few hours the potion will wear off and leave the dragon unharmed in every way. Counter-spell/Antidote: Any waking or rejuvination potion will work, though it is better for the dragon if they are allowed to sleep the draught off naturally.

Directions

Fill your cauldron one-third of the way full of water and heat your cauldron to 307 Degrees Fahrenheight. Slice the Hellebore stems lengthwise and drop them into the water. After two minutes take the ground leaves of the hellebore plant and drop them into the water as well. Using the flat of a blade, squeeze the juice of the Sophphorous Beans out and pour into the cauldron. Next add Asphodel in an infusion of Wormwood. For twenty minutes your potion should only be stirred clockwise, with every seventh turn adding one stir counter-clockwise. After twenty minutes your mixture should release a rich indigo steam. Next add chopped up Valerian Roots, which will turn the color of your potion a deep indigo color almost bordering on black. For ten more minutes continue to stir clockwise with two counter-clockwise stirs every eighth clockwise stir. Potion should continue to retain the same coloring. After the final ten minutes, drop the Moonstone into the potion and it should immediately take on a much brighter indigo color as the stone dissolves into the mixture. For three final minutes stir only counter-clockwise. After three minutes the potion is complete. Pour into a bottle and seal.

Other necessary information

This potion will retain it's potency for three years. After that the potion will turn a pale lilac and should be discarded.
